UNESCO estimates that there are 130 million girls around the world who are out of school. Educating a girl not only has the potential to change her life - it can also positively impact her community and future generations and increase the climate resiliency of her country.
The good news is that there are incredible organisations around the world who are working to support girls and remove the barriers that exist to them accessing opportunities and education.
From fundraising and donating, to getting your school, community or work involved, there are so many ways you can help to ensure that more girls around the world get to access their right to an education!
The Campaign for Female Education (CAMFED)
CAMFED is a pan-African movement revolutionising how girls’ education is delivered.
Through a gold-standard system of accountability to the young people and communities they serve, CAMFED have created a model that radically improves girls’ prospects of becoming independent, influential women. Just US$150 can send a girl to school for a year!
